And, yes … If you do not know this language is spoken in Switzerland under the name „Confederazione Svizzera”.
At the beginning of the 20th century dialects of the Italian language varied greatly from one area to another. Meanwhile the situation has changed a lot, managing to develop a language to be spoken in general terms, with very few variations. It is said that in 1861, only 2.5% of the Italian population spoke Italian, most of them using regional dialects.
When we say regional dialects we do not refer to the Moldovan accent versus the Transylvanian accent. Napolitana is so different from Italian, that it has its own usual terms.
Things you did not know about Italian

Particularities of Italian grammar and phonetics
Personal pronouns are not very often used in Italian, unlike other foreign languages. Also, pronouns written with great L, as Lei and Loro understood further. Thus, the two words may have the meaning of „it” and „them”, but they can also refer to „you” and „you”.
Verbs set to infinitive have the end-to-end, and -ire termination. Most of the verbs in Italian are regular verbs, and conjugation is very similar to the Romanian language.
Double consonants pronounce much stronger. For example, the word „pizza” or „fatto” has a more pronounced double consonant in speech.
